Show Visiting in St. George last Friday Fri-day enroute to California were Mrs. Henry Redding, Calif., Mrs. Robert Piatt and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Piatt. They had been to Enterprise En-terprise to attend the James Piatt funeral. ot. M. Mrs. B. L. Kenworthy and sons were in from Mt. Trumbull over the week end visiting relatives and transacting business. .V Ol. A 'n '.'- If Mrs. Margie Dalton is slowly recovering from her recent illness. LeBaron attended the Monday Mon-day afternoon funeral services in Hurricane for Mrs. Wilford Leany, who was a daughter of Mr. LeBaron. Le-Baron. M. tf. J. Home from Fort Lewis, Wash., for a 15-day furlough with his wife is Pfc. Allan Ruesch. He i arrived last Thursday and while here will visit with his parents and other relatives in Springdale. Harold Miles returned Wednesday Wednes-day morning from Glendale, Calif., where he and Mrs. Miles went last week to greet their new granddaughter, the child of Mr. and Mrs. Shirl Pitchforth. Mrs. Miles is remaining for two weeks. The Misses Mary and Sylvia Barton were hostesses at a Valentine Val-entine waffle supper at their home last Thursday evening. Valentine favors and games were features of the evening's program. Dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jess Gibbons on the evening of Friday, Feb. 12th, were Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Giesenger. The affair af-fair honored Mrs. Giesenger's birthday anniversary, and the 18th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Gibbons, which came on Feb. 14. Cakes with candles for both events were table centerpieces. A small group of close friends were present. JC M, -St. w 'a' -sr Mr. and Mrs. Elbert L. Nelson and small son, Michael, left Wednesday Wed-nesday for their home in California, Cali-fornia, after visiting relatives in St. George for the past two weeks. Mr. and Mrs. A, A. Nelson and Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Nelson mo-! .tored to Cedar City Sunday to visit relatives at the home of Miss Mary Nelson, daughter and sister of the visitors. Other guests' for the day were Dr. and Mrs. Wyatt W. Miles of Richfield. Mrs. Miles is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Nelson. Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Thurgood of Syracuse, Utah;' are spending the week in St. George visiting with Mrs. Charlotte V. Atkin and working work-ing in the Temple. Miss Dawn Finley returned on Wednesday from two weeks vacation va-cation in California. Guest this week of Mr. and Mrs. Ambrose Cannon is Mrs. Julia Leithead of Canaan ranch. Friends and relatives in St. George were advised Monday, that Pvt. H. Wayne Macfarlane, soni of Mi and Mrs. Hubert A. (Bert) Macfarlane, now of Ogden, but formerly of St. George, is listed by the Army as missing in "North American area", since Feb. 2nd. His father is principal of the Mound Fort high school, Ogden. Wayne was born in St. George, Aug. 25, 1917. His last word to his parents was from Camp Myles Standish, Mass., when he told of a special assignment. Lieut. Charles Russell Hansen spent the week end in St. George with his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hansen, having a short furlough from Luke Field, Ariz., after graduation ceremonies, before be-fore receiving his next assignment. |
