Show Dixie Plays Two Games Away This Week; Hurricane Tops League The Dixie high school basketball team takes to the road for two games this week end. The boys will tangle with Valley on Friday night and then move on to Kanab Saturday. The Flyers will have to win both of these to remain in the running for the league championship! The Hurricane Tigers still hold the top spot with a game and a half lead over the Flyers, who gained undisputed possession of second place by trimming Cedar City last Friday here 35-14. Hurricane Hur-ricane won two last week, edging Parowan out on Wednesday 46-41 and having another close call at Enterprise 31-28. The Tigers meet the Cedar Red-men Red-men at Hurricane tomorrow night. The Flyers played their best ball of the season last Friday, and the Redmen didn't have a chance. It is hard to see hbw Coach Hafen's boys can lose out in their remaining games if they play this type of ball. However, Hurricane has a real team, and has shown plenty of ability too, with plenty of fight in the pinches. The Dixie-Hurricane game here on Feb. 26th should be a natural. Parowan edged out Kanab at Parowan last Friday to regain fourth place. Cedar City strengthened strength-ened her hold on third place by trouncing Kanab 32-22. Enterprise plays at Parowan and Cedar in other league games this week end. |
