Show WASHINGTON COUNTY RED CROSS CHAPTER IS NOW REORGANIZED Reorganization of the executive officers of the Washington county chapter of the American Red Cross was perfected at a meeting held at headquarters on Friday. Mrs. Claud Thompson, chairman for the past 14 months, Mrs. Roxey Romney vice-chairman, and Wesley A. Nelson, home service chairman for the past three years, resigned, and were tendered a vote of appreciation. Appointed to succeed Mrs. Thompson as chairman is Mrs. Alfred H. Bateman, who returned recently to St. George from Cedar City. She chose as vice-chairman Mrs. Ward Esplin, with Mrs. Charles Pickett, secretary, Mrs. Vivian Milne, treasurer, and Mrs. Claud Thompson, home service chairman, succeeding Mr. Nelson. Mrs. Harold S. Snow, who has made an enviable record as production pro-duction chairman for the war period per-iod received a certificate of appreciation ap-preciation for her untiring service. This certificate is awarded annually annu-ally by the Pacific area for outstanding out-standing achievement in each chapter. A three-year service in first aid was also awarded to Reed Blake, Wroodward high school coach, who has conducted classes in first aid in the public schools of St. George and throughout the county. Mrs. Bert Truman was chosen as chairman of production to succeed Mrs. Snow. The outgoing secretary is Mrs. Clyde Graff. Mrs. Joseph T. Atkin, Jr., chairman chair-man of home nursing, Mrs. Eleanor Elea-nor S. Smith, chairman of nutrition, nutri-tion, Sheriff Antone B. Prince, chairman of disaster, Reed Blake, chairman of first aid, A. A. Pax-man, Pax-man, Water safety, and K. M. Cannon, chairman of accident prevention pre-vention service were all retained. Mrs. Ruth Reynolds returned recently from Long Beach where the chapter sent her to take advantage ad-vantage of a nursing course sponsored spon-sored by the Delano, Fund, and will put over a class in nursing at the Dixie junior college beginning be-ginning next quarter. Mrs. Ruth Boyer, an itinerant instructor, sent to this' area to conduct classes class-es in foods, reports fine cooperation cooper-ation and will conduct classes in Enterprise in the near future. |
