Show Recent visitors in St. George were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bunting Bunt-ing and children of Salt Lake City who were guests while here of their mother, Mrs. Sina Bunting. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Sinfield and baby, accompanied by their mother, Mrs. Rebecca Sinfield arrived ar-rived Friday evening from Lund, Nev., to be guests over the week end of Mrs. Hela Seegmiller, before be-fore going on to Zion National Park and other points of interest. Engineer J. Mark Holmes, who has resided in St. George the past several months, left last Thursday Thurs-day for his home in Logan, where as a U. S. Reserve officer, he will be employed as instructor in military training connected with the U. S. A. C, for the duration. Mrs. Ireta Wescott motored to Richfield Friday evening, taking her daughter, Gaydra, who has been visiting with her for the past two weeks. Mrs. B. P. Wulfenstein Sr., left last Thursday for Milford, accompanying ac-companying her children, Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Connell, for an extended ex-tended visit at their home. Mr. and Mrs. Clark Gubler visited vis-ited briefly in St. George last Thursday, enroute to Berkeley, Calif., where Mr. Gubler is at-tending at-tending school. Accompanying them on the return trip were Mr. and Mrs. Charles S. Cottam of this city, who will visit for two months in Berkeley with their children, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. C. Carr and family. The group spent Thursday in Las Vegas visiting relatives and made the balance of the trip through Reno, and over the northern route to Berkeley. Ben Cameron came up from Las Vegas, Saturday, returning on Sunday, taking Mrs. Cameron and their daughter, and Mrs. Cameron's Cam-eron's father, David H. Cannon, with him to Las Vegas, where they will reside for the present. Mr. Cameron and his sons have employment there. Here to attend the Saturday funeral services of Matthew Gray McMurtrie were his sister, Mrs. Marion Gray, Mr. and Mrs. Math-ew Math-ew Gray and daughter, and Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Gray and son, all of Central, Utah; Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Piatt and children of Newcastle. , Mrs. Mary A. Drake left last Saturday for Eagle Valley, Nev., accompanying Mr. and Mrs. William Wil-liam Holling'er, who have spent several weeks here working in the Temple. On her arrival in Nevada, Ne-vada, Mrs. Drake was advised of the birth of twin granddaughters in Honolulu. The twins are the children of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Necome, the father being on the islands in military service. . Mr. and Mrs. William Penn Barton left last Friday for their home in Paragonah, having been released as Temple missionaries from that stake, after serving in this capacity for the past several years. Lester Cottam left Wednesday for Springville. where he will visit with Dr. and Mrs. G. B. Orton. Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Schmutz and family of New Harmony were joined Wednesday by Stanton Schmutz of St. George to attend the Covered Wagon Days celebration celebra-tion in Salt Lake City and visit Mrs. Schmutz' family. Mrs. Arthur Hemenway and Mrs. Rueben Stratton accompanied accompan-ied their sister. Mrs. Lucile Pitch-forth Pitch-forth to Salt Lake City Wednesday, Wednes-day, where they will remain over the week. They are relatives of the Covered Wagon Days Queen, Cecile Schmutz. Mr. and Mrs. John H. Riding were advised Tuesday of the birth of their fourth great-grandchild, a son born to Mr. and Mrs. Frank Turley, July 14th, in Burbank, Calif. Mrs. Turley is the former Arlene Riding. Mrs. R. A. Habbeshaw and son. Mark returned on the Saturday night bus to their home in Salt i Lake City after visiting two weeks with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Worthen. Her brother. L. D. Worthen returned with her to visit until early September. Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Atkin were advised Tuesday of the birth of a son to Mr. and Mrs. Milton M. Hansen of Pioche. July 19. Mrs. Hansen is their daughter, the former Mary Atkin. This is the Hansen's third son. Supt. and Mrs. Milton E. Moody, daughter. Beverly, and son. Olsen, left early Wednesday morning for Salt Lake City where they will , attend the Covered Wagon Days, celebration and Mr. Moody will interview possible teachers. Frank Wood. William Wood and Harold Ansel, special employees of the local Utah-Idaho Sugar Beet Seed company plant arrived ar-rived last Sunday evening to begin be-gin work on the 19 52 seed crop. Frank Crosby returned Saturday to his home in San Diego. He was accompanied as far as Los Angeles by Mr. and Mrs. Charles V. Seegmiller Jr.. who will make an extended visit with their children child-ren in that area. Mrs. Rose Ramsey returned last week from visiting for several weeks with her children in Salt Lake City and other northern points. Mrs. Alex Spivak and baby girl are home from the hospital. Dr. and Mrs. Gilbert Hyatt left Wednesday with their family to visit in Parowan with relatives over July 24. Mrs. Eliza Judd returned Sunday Sun-day afternoon from spending several sev-eral days visiting with her daughter, daugh-ter, Zella Nevin, at the latter's service station near the Utah line. Mrs. Jetta Snow and daughter, Pauline, left this (Thursday) morning for Salt Lake City on business and to attend the Covered Cov-ered Wagon Days celebration. Mrs. Charlotte V. Atkin accompanied them and will visit relatives there and in Bountiful and other points. Mrs. Arthur Paxman and daughter, daugh-ter, Ferol, and Mr. and Mrs. Clair Paxman visited Mr. and Mrs. Bert Webb in Las Vegas on last Tuesday. Mrs. Karl N. Snow arrived last Friday from Provo and after spending the week end with friends in Pine Valley is visiting in St. George during this week. The Easy Aces were guests on Wednesday evening of Mrs. Rex Nelson at her home. Honors went to Mrs. Ken Cox, Mrs. Clyde Mc-Quaid Mc-Quaid and Mrs. Duke Sutton. Mrs. Joseph McArthur a h d children are here from Wasco, Calif., for an extended visit with relatives. |
