Show Washington Mrs. Lenzy Hoopes Reporter Little Rayburn Paxman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Haven Paxman, is improving after a serious case of pneumonia. Miss Thora Tobler spent the week-end in St. George visiting friends. Mrs. Mary Judd Allan and son, Paul, have been confined to their beds the past week with the flu. They are improving now. Several of our truck-gardners are pulling and bunching onions this week for the markets. The dance held Saturday night proved a huge success and we cordially cor-dially invite everyone Saturday night. Mr. and Mrs. Lenzy Hoopes accompanied ac-companied by Ivan, Horace and Roland Reidhead made a business trip to Kanab and Orderville last week. The telephone company is placing plac-ing two new phones here in our town, at the home of Thomas B. Robinson and Hyrum Prisbey. Mrs. Vilate Nielsen and small sons escaped serious injury Monday Mon-day afternoon while Mrs. Nielsen was washing outside, her small boys decided they would make a fire and remembered some gasoline gaso-line that was in the screen porch. Mrs. Neilsen heard the boys crying and ran into the house to find the kitchen in flames. The gasoline gaso-line had been scattered on some rugs in front of the cook stove and was burning. Mrs. Nielsen called for help but by the time anyone came she had the fire out. Mrs. Nielsen wa sburned badly on one arm and one of her little boys was burned i nseveral places on his face. But they say they are thankful that is was not worse. Mrs. Gene Boothe of Salt Lake City is visiting with her mother, Mrs. Eugene Cripps. Miss Phoebe Hall, who has been ill all winter, is back again as clerk in Calvin Hall's store. Denzil Sproul is suffering from cuts and bruises received when he clashed with a car in St. George Wednesday. Grant Blackett drove a truck to Springville Saturday for Ellis Murray. Mur-ray. While there he visited his mother and other relatives. Reed Iverson and Clark SchmUtz made a business trip to Arizona Monday. |
