Show Overton Wins Right To Go To Church Tournament In Salt Lake HURRICANE, Utah The Overton Over-ton Men Men basketball team swept to victory in the three games played here on Friday and Saturday and thereby won the right to represent Region 2 at the All-Church tournament to be held in Salt Lake on March 23 to 26. Other teams participating in the tournament were Delta First ward, Cedar Second ward and Toquerville. Toquer-ville. The Overton squad showed marked superiority in all departments depart-ments of play, making an average of 47.3 points per game while holding their opponents to 19.7. This team broke quickly, passed swiftly and accurately. Fans, who saw the team stated that Coach Lorraine Ivins, who in 1916-17, was a star center on the Dixie high team, has done a fine job. The games played and the scores were as follows: Friday afternoon games Delta First, 31 and Cedar Second, 55; Overton, 65 and Toquerville, 15. Friday night games Delta, 47 and Toquerville, 27; Overton, 34 and Cedar, 27. Saturday Games Saturday morning Delta, 52 and Cedar, 46. This gave Delta the right to meet Overton that afternoon. In the final game Overton Over-ton ran away from Delta to score a 45-17 victory and end the meet with an unblemished slate.
