Show NEWS OF THE COUNTY SEAT Doctor and Mrs. R. J. Pace, Mrs. Rulon Dalley and son, Bobby, arrived Monday from Los Angeles to visit relatives. They were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Pace until Wednesday when they left for the north, Mrs. Dalley and son remaining in Cedar City to visit while the Paces went in to Salt Lake City to attend the April conference. ' Mrs.' George H. Lytle, captain t of the Washington D.U.P. left on Wednesday for Salt Lake City I to attend the D.U.P. convention and April conference. She was accompanied by her brother, Dr. 'c R. J. Pace and wife. They plan to visit relatives at Richfield and 3 other points enroute. J 1 Mr. and Mrs. Wm. T. Morris J Jr., daughter, Mrs. Preston Hafen and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Morris of Los Angeles attended the funeral of a relative in Minersville last week, the latter couple going on to Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. George Brooks motored to Salt Lake City last week to visit their daughter, Emily, who left Thursday for her mission to the central states. Mrs. Brooks will remain for April conference. Mrs. Charlotte V. Atkin and her sister, Mrs. Margaret Traveler left early Tuesday morning for Salt Lake City to attend the April conference and Mrs. Traveler is to return to her home in Bountiful after spending the winter win-ter in St. George with Mrs. Atkin. Mrs. Gilbert Leany and son returned re-turned Saturday from Logan where they have spent the winter while Mr. Leany attended school. Mrs. Leany Is recuperating from a recent appendectomy. . Mrs. Amber Schmutz left Tuesday Tues-day for Salt Lake City where she will attend conference as official representative of the St. George stake relief society board. & Miss Nora Shumway arrived from Salt Lake City Friday to visit over the spring vacation with Mr. and Mrs. Jed Shumway and Mr. and Mrs. Reed Mathis. She was guest speaker Monday evening eve-ning at the Temple bureau district missionary meeting, giving much interesting information on the church history and on the Temple block tours at Salt Lake City. Mrs. Harry Lindorf and four children arrived Friday to spend their spring vacation with Miss Lena Nelson. Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Rowley of Blanding were visitors in St. George and Bunkerville during the past 10 days, guests while here of Mr. and Mrs. William Brooks. Mrs. Jennie Nelson returned last Thursday from Los Angeles and other parts of California where she has visited with her children since early in January. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Childers returned re-turned last Saturday from a business busi-ness trip to Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Schmutz returned Friday from Salt Lake City where they visited with their son, Donald, prior to his departure for the Spanish-American mission. Mrs. Vivien Woodbury returned last week from Los Angeles, accompanying ac-companying Mrs. Bertha McGregor Mc-Gregor and Miss Mona Woodbury, who had motored down for her. Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Jones returned re-turned to their home in Gunlock Sunday evening, having spent the past six months in St. George doing Temple work. Mrs. Clifford Leach entertained the W.S.S. club at the home of her mother, Mrs. Asay, March 28. Mrs. Marcia Crawford was introduced intro-duced to the club as a new member. mem-ber. Rita Reid, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Reid, received medical care at the local hospital Saturday Satur-day over Monday. Pres. Harold S. Snow with his mother. Mrs. Annie S. Dwane Schmutz left Tuesday morning for Salt Lake City and Logan, returning Wednesday and bringing Mr. and Mrs. Howard Schmutz and their friend, Harold Luke, who will remain for the spring vacation from the U.S.-A.C. U.S.-A.C. where they are enrolled. Elaine Hafen, Rhoda Cannon and Fawn Schmutz arrived on Wednesday from Logan to spend the spring vacation with relatives. Mrs. Orson Hall and Mrs. La-Verne La-Verne DeSwan left Tuesday evening eve-ning for Salt Lake City to visit relatives and attend conference. Mr. and Mrs. Roy A. Welker and daughters left Wednesday for Salt Lake City to attend the April conference. Mr. and Mrs. Reid Webster and children returned Tuesday from visiting relatives in northern Utah and in Idaho. Mrs. Rulon Knell and three children, accompanied by Mrs. Allie Knell, motored down from Cedar City Saturday. The elder Mrs. Knell will remain several weeks doing Temple work. Miss Mona Woodbury entertained enter-tained at dinner Monday evening honoring Karl Winsor, son of Andrew N. Winsor, who has been visiting for 10 days from Albany, N. Y. Guests included besides Mr. Winsor were Mr. and Mrs. R. N. Ashby, Dr. and Mrs. M. O. Hutchings and Mr. and Mrs. B. G. Milne. Mr. Winsor returned to Albany Wednesday morning. Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Matheson and daughter, Betty, of Chicago and Mr. and Mrs. George C. Miller, Mil-ler, of Beaver, visited Monday with Mr. and Mrs. Albert E. Miller. Mr. Matheson is president of the Chicago stake and came west to attend conference in Salt Lake City and to visit in Beaver with the Millers. Mrs. Miller is a daughter of the Mathesons. They were going on to Zion that Miss Matheson might see the park while west. Miss Delia Lee returned to her home in Panaca March 30, after 10 days in the local hospital following fol-lowing surgery. Miss Ruth Bracken underwent surgery in the local hospital on April 1.
