Show Hurricane Miss Audrey Ballard Reporter Mr. and Mrs. Bob Johnson of Los Angeles, who are vacationing in Utah, spent a few days with Mrs. Annie Langston. They left Tuesday Tues-day to continue their tour through the parks and on to Salt Lake City. Mrs. June Nicholes and small daughter of Love, Wyo. arrived here last week to stay with Mrs. Nicholes' parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Jepson and family for a while. Roma Heaton, who has been visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Clare Brinholt in Salt Lake City for some time, returned home on Wednesday. Mrs. Van Prisbrey and two children chil-dren of St. George ' spent a week with Mrs. Annie Langston. They left on Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Bowler of Gunlock spent the week end with Mrs. Bowler's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Woodbury. Merlene Stevens is vacationing in Charleston, Utah, with her friend, Miss Elaine Wright. Margaret Englestead left recently re-cently to spend several weeks in Ogden with friends and relatives. Friends of Mrs. George Imlay honored her Tuesday with a friendship shower held at the home of Mrs. Howard Wilson. Elwin Spendlove began work last week in the Zion Picture Shop in Cedar City. He is to furnish various curios for their souvenir department. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Scholzen and son, Jack, left Tuesday on a i tour to Idaho where they will stay for a week with friends and relatives. Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Williams stayed in Kanarra Thursday with Mr. and Mrs. Samuel L. Pollock and daughter, Wilma. Freal Stratton returned here Thursday after three month's employment em-ployment in a lumber camp near Heber City. Mrs. Ruby Webb is back working work-ing in Judd's store following a week's absence while she underwent under-went a minor operation. Friends of Bill Spendlove honored honor-ed him on his birthday anniversary anniver-sary with an outdoor party held in the lake flat Saturday night. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Slack of the Southern Utah Power company are back from their vacation which was spent in Cedar City and on Cedar Mountain. Shirley Ballard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lafe Ballard, returned from a three weeks' visit in Salt Lake City on Thursday, bringing with her Norma Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Smith of Salt Lake City. Miss Smith i will visit with Miss Ballard and with her prandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James Jepson. Grace Sullivan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sullivan, is back from Los Angeles where she has been during the past month with her sister and family. After a week's vacation in Los Angeles with Miss Wilma Isom, Leora Isom returned home Wednesday Wed-nesday on the bus. Mrs. Ray Bradshaw and two sons, LaMar and Jerry have been in Heber City for the past week visiting relatives. Wednesday George Hastings took his mother-in-law, Mrs. Junius Heaton and small daughter, Mary, back to their home in Alton, after they had been visiting here for the past two weeks. Bonita Ballard also accompanied them. Charline Tweedie and her girl friends entertained a group of young people at the Tweedie home on Saturday. The occasion was Miss Tweedie's birthday anniversary. anniver-sary. The Stitch and Chatter club had their weekly meeting Friday. A demonstration was given on "Care of the Face" by Carroll Burgener and Charlene Tweedie. The group began work on laundry bags. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan DeMille and family of Vernal have been visiting visit-ing at the Oliver DeMille home Monday through Wednesday. Glen-don Glen-don DeMille accompanied them home for a visit. Wendell Wakling, who has been working on the road at Rockville, was taken to the hospital Sunday, suffering from blood poisoning resulting re-sulting from injuries he received when a rock rolled on his leg. Mr. and Mrs. Fenton Imlay returned re-turned to Cedar City Tuesday to live after a few weeks' employment employ-ment on the road construction in Rockville. |
