Show Improved Telephone Service Announced Improved telephone service to Modena, Utah, was recently made available by the completion of a program of pole line construction and long distance circuit extensions exten-sions which has been in progress by the Mountain State Telephone and Telegraph company for the past two years, it was announced today by D. M. Snow, local manager. man-ager. The new facilities just completed com-pleted consist of 39 miles of new copper circuit extending from Cedar City to Enterprise Junction, connecting at the latter point with a 22 mile circuit from Enterprise to Modena, which was completed last year. The new copper circuits were strung on 16 miles of existing exist-ing pole line and 23 miles of new pole line. Formerly, Modena and Enterprise Enter-prise were served out of St. George, Under the new arrangement arrange-ment these two communities will have direct long distance connection connec-tion with Cedar City. The communities com-munities of Lytle's Ranch, Central Cen-tral and Veyo, which will continue to be served out of St. George, (Continued on page eight) Service Announced (Continued from first page) will benefit by this re-arrangement through an improved service resulting re-sulting from a reduction in the number of telephones served on this line. On July 22 Modena will be connected with Caliente, Nev., with 50 miles of new copper circuit cir-cuit which will make standard telephone service available for the first time from Caliente to Utah points. The new circuit will also open up service from Utah points to Pioche through connection at Caliente with the lines of J. W. Christian's telephone system at Caliente. |
