Show Around the County, Arizona Strip and Ports of ifev., With the Correspondents Santa Clara Mrs. Eliza Graff Reporter Mrs. Val Rose and her brother, Von of Los Angeles spent Sunday and Monday here. Her brother has employment there. Mr. and Mrs. Newell Frei and two children of St. George were visitors here last Monday. The cattlemen have been busy rounding their cattle to their summer sum-mer ranges. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Frei made a business trip to Ely, Nevada. A shower was given last Wednesday Wed-nesday afternoon in honor of Mrs. Arlo Beatty from Las Vegas, formerly form-erly Miss Carrie Graff. The entertainers en-tertainers were Mrs. Marie Gubler, Mrs. Sylvia Graff, Mrs. Grace Stucki, Mrs. Nellie Gubler, Mrs. Jessie Frei, Mrs. Marguerite Hurd, Miss Verna Tobler, Misses Elma and Marjorie Knight and Miss Irene Graff. Games were played and refreshments were served to a large, jolly crowd. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Tobler and day here. Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Graff and three children of Minersville spent several days here visiting relatives and friends. Mrs. Frank Little, Mrs. Caroline Caro-line Roundy and Mrs. Josephine Brown of Kanab, nieces of Mrs. Theodore Graff were visitors at her home last Thursday. w Mt. Trumbull, Ariz. Roy Bundy Reporter The May festival put on by the Primary Friday was very good. Ice cream and cookies were served to all after the program. The hall was decorated beautifully with wild flowers. Trumbull received a nice rain here on the 30th which certainly gave the crops a boost. Miss Violet Welch is visiting with Mrs. Shuman Shelley in St. George. Jess Welch has sold his place here at Trumbull to James Bundy. He is planning to move to Oak-dale, Oak-dale, California with his mother and father. Owen Cox left here last Thursday with a load of furniture furn-iture and Mr. Welch's parents. He will take them t o their future home in California. Mr. and Mrs. Welch plan to- leave on Firday. Roy Bundy and son, Clarence have gone with a load of wood to Moapa. Mrs. Owen Cox came out Friday with her husband. Melvin Whipple, who has been working for the circles the past two months returned home last week. Mrs. Edward Tobler Reporter The Misses Shirley Tobler, Ver-lene Ver-lene Tobler and Matha Gubler left last Tuesday for Provo to pick berries. Allen Reusch o f Springdale was a visitor at the Leo F. Reber home last Saturday. Martin Gubler and son, Lloyd spent the past week at Pine Valley, Val-ley, mountain. Gunlock Mrs. Mary E. Leavirt Reporter Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Hannig and Narvel Leavitt of St. George came up to the wedding. Mrs. Sara Falliot and two daughters, Lydia and Freda of Idaho Falls were also in attendance, but have left for Panguitch and other points where they intend visiting relatives on their way home. Mrs. Lester Mires has gone to Central to visit relatives for a few j days. There is part of the CCC camp moving to Leeds for an indefinite period. We will surely miss the boys and we greatly appreciate what they have done for us. We hope they will not forget their friends thev are leaving in Gun-lock. Gun-lock. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Holt, Andy and Bernice Holt and Miss Micky McBride were invited to the Ivan Hunt home for dinner Sunday. A wedding dance was given here Saturday in the open air hall in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Holt. There was a large crowd in attendance at-tendance from St. George, Hurricane, Hurri-cane, Santa Clara. Mosquito, Enterprise, En-terprise, Veyo and Central. The newly weds received lots of gifts and everyone seemed to enjoy Cane Beds, Ariz. Mrs. Jos. T. Wilkinson j Reporter i i County Assessor W. O. Ruggles, ; of Kingman accompanied by Mrs. ! Ruggles were in our locality last i Tuesday on business. Ernest Allen and children spent Sunday and Monday in Glendale visiting relatives. Mrs. Sarah Walker went to St. George last Sunday for the Memorial Mem-orial day services. Mrs. Karl Perkins made a business busi-ness trip to Cedar City last Monday. Mon-day. Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Thurston and Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Stock made themselves. Mrs. Ralph McBride and two daughters. Mickey and Jene also Mrs. Wilford Holt made a business trip to St. George Saturday to do I some shopping. Glen R. Webb and family moved j to St. George Friday. They will (be greatly missed in our little ! town as he lias spent the past two years hero teaching school, j Joseph Neilson and Mrs. Henry Hunt have gone to Manti to visit : their parents. Mr. and Mrs. N. J. I Neilson, who are getting quite I feeble. a business trip to Hurricane on Saturday. We are proud to have two of our boys receiving college degrees this spring. Orlin Colvin is graduating from the B. Y. U. at Provo and Karl J. Wilkinson from the Agricultural Agri-cultural college at Logan. Karl and Lehvin Wilkinson came home Monday from Logan. |
