Show JSpringdale I ! Mrs. Jay Crawford j Reporter ! Thursday evening the 4-H club j held their achievement party at : their leader's home. Clara Olsen ! and Myrtle Evans assisted the ; hostess. Mothers were invited, a j lunch was served and a very enjoyable en-joyable time was had by all. Those who completed their summer's j work and received pins were Lorna JJolley, Mirian Dennett, Val Gene i Alsen, Laura Crawford, Golda Justil. Melba Evans and Elgv Gif-ford. Gif-ford. 1 Miss Verda Crawford arrived home Thursday evening from the northern states mission. Verda fil-I fil-I j led an honorable mission and we j i are very proud of her. She gave l ;very interesting talks both in Sunday Sun-day school and sacrament meeting. She is our first lady missionary ' to leave our ward. However, we have had two since. Mrs. Ellen Crawford and Erma Ruesch at the j St. George Temple. Saturday evening our primary. 1 under the direction of Partha Rus-i Rus-i sell, president, presented a pro-! pro-! grant at Cedar City. This program I was broadcast over station KSUB. j We were very glad of this op-! op-! portunity, and although very few ! of us here heard the broadcast, we are sure it was a good program for we know just what our primary pri-mary children can do. School started Monday morning with Grant Langston. Orvilla Pace and Phyllis Xisson as the teachers. Pre-school clinic was held here Monday under the supervision of Miss Knight and Doctor Mclntyre. Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Olsen and Mr. and Mrs. C. K. Jensen motored motor-ed to Boulder Dam during the week. Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Ruesch left Saturday for Roosevelt to visit. Y.W.M.I.A. was reorganized Sunday Sun-day with Jeneva Johnson, Lillian Christensen and Clara Olsen being released and Verda Crawford, president; presi-dent; Lillian and Ester Christen-sen. Christen-sen. counselors: Ellen Gifford. secretary; sec-retary; sustained as the new officers. |
