Show Sacred Easter Services Presented Here Services Termed "Unusually Fine" By Those Attending; Musical Program Under Direction of McAllister Sacred Easter services were held in the St. George Tabernacle with the three St. George wards combining com-bining to present the services. Bp. Arthur K. Hafen conducted the meeting, which started at 8:30 a.m. The sacrament service was under the direction of the priests and deacons. The service was opened with the congregation singing, "Oh It Is Wonderful". The invocation was given by John T. Woodbury and the' benediction was made by Pres. W. W. McArthur. After the sacrament sac-rament services, which were termed term-ed "unusually fine", by those present, pre-sent, the following sacred concert was presented under the direction of Prof. Joseph W. McAllister: Lord's Prayer, B. Cecil Gates, ladies, chorus; "Come Unto Me", anthem by Parks, mixed chorus; sextette from "Lucia di Lammermoor", brass quartette, Earl J. Bleak, Asil Jones, Paul Nielsen, Joe Talley, Thelma Bleak, accompanist; "Pilgrim Chorus", by Wagner, mixed chorus; "The Guiding Star", vocal duet, Mamie Paxman and Dilworth Snow; "The Heavens Resound", Re-sound", Beethoven, mixed chorus; "Hossana" Jules Granier, vocal solo, Rhoda Andrus; "O Holy Father", Marchetti, mixed chorus; "Leave It With. Him" vocal trio, Alice Cannon, Ruth Miles and Melba Baker; "Pilgrim Chorus" from I. Lombardi, Verdi, mixed chorus; "He Shall Feed His Flock", from Messiah, vocal solo, Mary McGregor; "Unfold Ye Portals" Por-tals" from the Redemption by Gounod, mixed chorus. Clara Woodhouse and Seth Harper Har-per were the accompanists. |
