Show Bunkerville, Nev. Mrs. Mary H. Leavitt Reporter Moapa stake conference was held here last Sunday. Mrs. Neb-eker Neb-eker and Mr. Richards of the General Gen-eral board were in attendance. Primary and Sunday school work was the topic of discussion. Many from here attended the funeral services for A. J. Barnum held in Mesquite, May 24. He has been seriously ill for the past two years. He died in Las Vegas where he has resided the past ten years. He leaves a large family. Speakers Speak-ers at the funeral were Harvey Sprague, Pres. Bryan Bunker, Heber Holt, Albert Leavitt, and Bruce Barnum. All praised the faithfulness of Mr. Barnum to the church. He lived to a good old age, being 75 years old. About fifty of his grandchildren furnished furn-ished the singing which was very impressive. Many relatives and friends from all the nearby towns were here. The teachers have all gone to their different localities and many young men and boys are away in the cantaloupes in the Muddy valley val-ley and others in Las Vegas, which leaves the town almost deserted. Henry Leavitt and Albert Hafen and on jury duty in Las Vegas. Francis Leavitt is in Reno where he is employed by the PWA. All the men of the town are working on the dam as the water has been out of the canal for about a week. |
