Show Legion Women Hap Poppy Day Campaign Enthusiastic response to the American Legion Auxiliary's appeal ap-peal for Poppy Day workers is reported re-ported by Mrs. Leona Atkin, poppy chairman of the Lester Keate Post No. 90 Auxiliary unit. Enrollment En-rollment of women to distribute memorial poppies throughout the city on Poppy Day, May 14, is practically complete and assures complete coverage of the city Mrs. Atkin said. All of the Auxiliary's Poppy Day workers will serve as unpaid volunteers, vol-unteers, giving their time to bring the memorial flowers to the city and to permit every penny of the contributions made for the poppies to go to the welfare of needy victims vic-tims of the war. The funds raised will help support the work of the Legion and Auxiliary for disabled veterans, their families and the families of deceased veterans during dur-ing the coming year. All members of the Auxiliary able to serve have volunteered to distribute the memorial poppies. In addition, members of other women's and girls' organizations will aid. Junior Auxiliary members mem-bers will take an active part in the work. |
