Show Mid -Winter Race Meet Plans Now Being Formulated First Year That Mid-Winter Race Meet Has Been Held On New Year's Day; Larger Larg-er Crowds Anticipated Announcing that their plans for three complete days of horse racing, sports and dancing are just about complete, the committee commit-tee in charge of the anuual Mid-Winter Mid-Winter race meet to be held in St. George on December 30, 31, and January 1, reports that everything every-thing points to one of the best meets ever held here. This is the first year that the' races have ever been run on New Yrear's. It is being tried because be-cause of the belief that a great many people will be in the mood to take on some real entertainment. entertain-ment. Since it is necessary to raise more money for the races this year, the committee is asking ask-ing for full coopreatinn of the people' of this district. For the .past two years the committee has been able to finance this meet without asking for donations from the business men. It is anticipated antici-pated that with good gates that this will again be the case Six races are planned for each day, and with the faster horses that are expected to be here this year some fast races should be cu tap for followers of this sport. This Mid-Winter race meet is ideally adapted to St. George at this time of the year. Being the only place in the state that the weather would permit such an I event during the .
