Show ERNEST ALLEN'S HOME DESTROYED BY FIRE NOV. 29 CANE BEDS, Arizona Fire destroyed the four-room frame house of Ernest Allen, together with all that was in the house, on Tuesday evening, November 29. The fire was discovered about S o'clock, but it was too far underway to save anything. It is thought that the fire was caused- by leaving a fire in an open fire place with clothes hanging hang-ing near it for the purpose of drying. Mr. Allen was working on Mt. Trumbull at the time, the children child-ren were all at a neighbors and Mrs. Allen had retired to the garage where they had a bed. She was asleep at the time the roar of the flames awoke her. The people here and in Rock-ville Rock-ville freely donated hi helping the stricken family. Ernest and Joe Allen came from the mountain when they heard of the fire. They remained over Thanksgiving and spent the day with their families. |
