Show Funeral Services For Edw. E. Bradshaw, Held At Hurricane Speakers Relate His Experiences Experi-ences As Dixie Pioneer; Married in Saint George Temple; 11 Living Children Funeral services for Edward Elsy Bradshaw, 76, Dixie Pioneer, Pio-neer, were held in the Hurricane Hurri-cane school auditorium, November Novem-ber 29 at 1:30 -p. m. Bishop Frank Reber presiding. He died at 10:30 p. m. on Friday, November No-vember 27 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Annie B. Scow, in Hurricane, after a three-weeks illness. Death was caused by infirmities in-firmities of age. Speakers at the services were, James Jepson, Harvey Hall, and David Hirschi. A tribute was given by Robert Dean. The speakers testified of his integrity of purpose, industry and loyalty to those in authority. They emphasized em-phasized the fact that he was a great Temple worker. He also took much interest in reading having subscribed to the Liahona. from early manhood until the time of his death. He was studious studi-ous and honest througout his life. Musical numbers were furnished furn-ished by a male quartet from the North ward, also solos by Mrs. Venice S. Stratton and Mr. Clauson. The grave was dedicated dedi-cated by Bishop Alma Flanigan of Virgin. Edward Elsy Bradshaw was born May 29. 1S60 at Tooele, Utah. He was the son of Samuel Sam-uel and Mary Ann Elsy. He came with his parents to Virgin 1 when he was a. small lad. His i schooling was received in the I schools cf Virgin. At the age of twenty-one he married, on October 12, 1881, Mary Ellen Owens in the St. George Temple. During the years following their marriage the couple lived in Virgin, Old Mexico, Mex-ico, Woodruff, Arizona and Hurricane. Hur-ricane. To this union were born seventeen children, eleven of whom are still living. These are as follows: Mrs. Nellie McLaws, and Samuel Bradshaw, Mesa, Arizona; Mrs. Emma B. Cornelius, Corn-elius, Virgin, David Barr Hyrum, E. Delon Bradshaw, Mrs. Martha B. Wood, and Mrs. Annie B. Scow, Hurricane; J. Elmer Bradshaw, Brad-shaw, Preston C. Bradshaw and Richard Bradshaw, Sparks, Nevada. Ne-vada. Six children, three daughters daugh-ters and three sons have died. He is also survived by two brothers, bro-thers, Benjamine Bradshaw, of Hurricane and David Bradshaw of Washington. Relatives and friends from a distance who attended the fun-eral fun-eral included, Mrs. McLaws, Samuel, Sam-uel, Emma, Elmer, Preston and Richard. Stanley and Shermin Bradshaw of Cedar City and Mr. and Mrs. Bert Bradshaw of St. George were also present. |
