Show St. George CCC Camp Capt. Alva Carpenter, district inspector, in-spector, spent Sunday and Monday Mon-day inspecting the St. George, and Wolf Hole camps. The camps passed a very fine inspection and Captain Carpenter gave a superior rating to the mess hall and kitchen. Lieut. George Kilanski reported to the camp for duty last week and is now acting as mess officer. Lieutenant Kilanski has been on duty at the Henrieville camp for the past six months. Morning classes for the first three months of 1938 got under way on Monday morning with large enrollments in concrete construction, con-struction, conservation, mathematics, mathema-tics, bookkeeping, spelling and penmanship. Over 90 per cent of the company is taking part in this schedule. The camp basketball team defeated de-feated the east ward in the second game of the CCC season by a score of 32-20. After a slow start the boys scored by means of superior passing and ball handling. handl-ing. Cox starred offensively by scoring 15 points and Patton did fine work on the guard line. Chaplain Pfeiffer conducted religious re-ligious services for the company on Saturday afternoon and organized or-ganized a Bible study class which will meet on Sunday mornings. Members Oren Cordrey, William Guv, William Massey. John Milce-tich Milce-tich and Robert Rittman were promoted to assistant leaders during dur-ing the past week. |
