Show 'Elementary School News Miss Woodbury's First Grade We have some new books called, "Away We Go". They are safety readers. We are learning safety habits from them which we will teach to others. Noreene Larson brought a silver fish to school in a pretty bowL She also brought some fish food and we can keep the fish until Friday. We are studying about the two great men who were born in February. They were Abraham Lincoln and George Washington. MLss Morris' Second Grades Our puppet show is almost finished. finish-ed. We are happy because it is snowing today. We 'made up this poem about the snow: It is snowing outside today, And so we want to go out and play, It is very pretty, cold and white, And so we hope it snows all night. Miss Foremaster's Fourth Grade Miss Winsor and Mabel Jarvis came to school and showed us many interesting things about Japan. We were happy to have them. We are enjoying reading a story about Japan in school. Miss Sorenson's Fourth Grade We are all busy and interested studying about Japan and preparing prepar-ing our Japanese operetta. It is to be presented on February 16. Last Friday we had a happy surprise when Mabel Jarvis came to our room and showed us a lot of things that had come from Japan. These things were many years old .but were very interesting. interest-ing. We especially liked tHe pictures pic-tures painted on real Japanese silk and the emboridery work. Miss Seegmiller's Fifth Grade Last Wednesday when we went to the school lunch most of the boys and girls acted very much like ladies and gentlemen. We had a nice time. This week we are giving our dimes for the President's Presi-dent's birthday, to help fight in fantile paralysis. This Wednesday Miss Foremaster Foremas-ter is going to help us make some pictures to color and burn and we hope we have some nice ones. We are learning "The Sword of Bunkerhill", we like it because it tells a story of the Revolutionary Revolution-ary war. Mr. Stucki's Fifth Grade Last week we had a surprise party for Mr. Stucki. Friday the girLs had a ball game with Santa Clara. The score was 5 to 12 in favor of St. George. The boys from Santa Clara came over Tuesday and i played basketball. The score was j 9 to 25 in favor of Santa Clara. Miss Foremaster is our art : teacher. She is helping us make Valentines. Joyce Milne and Dorothy Blake, Reporters. |
