Show Snowbound Man Rescued Jan. 15 Snowbound for seven days, was the experience of Mathew Mc-Murtree. Mc-Murtree. This incident occired while he was working for the City watching the pipe line at the head of the system. Starting Start-ing with December 28, Mr. Mc-Murtree Mc-Murtree was not visited by anyone any-one until January 4. The day before, be-fore, December 27, Anthony Lytle had been with him, but from the until January 4 he was "on his own". He was brought out on January Jan-uary 15, traveling on snow shoes for four miles and riding and improvised im-provised sled which was made from a pair of Rkis. Those in the party which went for him included Foster and Steve Daniels Dan-iels and Arnold Hannig. Steve Daniels stayed on the job with Clarence Cannon, who had been at the camp since January 11. Prior to this Anthony and Andrew An-drew Lytle had visited the camp on January 4. Keep Dhiry Information contained i n a diary kept by Mr. MrMurtree indicates in-dicates that he had plenty of food and fuo) and that he celebrated cele-brated New Year's Day with chicken, mashed potatoes, milk gravey, etc. At no time does the diary indicate that he was worried wor-ried as to his safety. Describing the snow fall he wrote that sixty-four inches had fallen by January 6 and that on the 14th ho measured a total of seventy inches.
