Show Changing of Dixie Junior High's Name Discussed By Frei BY NEWELL R. FREI Principal For some time it has been felt by school officials, including Supt. Milton E. Moody and members mem-bers of the school board, that the Dixie junior high school should be renamed. The responsibility of changing the name, however, is something that should be decided by the student's parents. The following fol-lowing are a few of the factors that should be taken into consideration con-sideration in arriving at a decision: 1. The name resembles the name of the Dixie junior college too closely; the result is some confusion con-fusion with mail, charge accounts, etc. 2. The emblem of the "D" should be reserved exclusively for the college. What advertising advantages advant-ages the distinctive term "Dixie" has should also accrure to the college. col-lege. 3. The term junior should be dropped because most of our students stu-dents are high school students. 4. There is no high school in St. George at present. 5. There is ample precedent for a change.
