This affair af-fair was one of the best business meet-Ls meet-Ls ever held in St. George. Several local business men were called on to renew conditions during the past year and all reported a banner year with nrospects of a better year in 1928. President Jos. T. Atkin, Jr., presided at the meetng. I Silverman, of New York, purchaser purchas-er of the Silver Reef property, was called cal-led on and outlined the plans of himself him-self and associates for the extensive development of this property. While only a small force of men are employed employ-ed at the reef at the present time, and wrk is being prosecuted in only one shaft, the Cobb property, other shafts will be dewatered and the force of men increased steadily. A mill will be built on the property to treat the ore developed deve-loped in the new workings and also to treat the tailings from the old dumps, which, due to the crude methods of treating ore used in the days when the Reef was booming, contain enough silver sil-ver to make milling by modern methods meth-ods profitable. Mr. Silverman stated in his talk that a large sum of money will be expended in the development of the property. This should prove a big thing for this county and will aid materially ma-terially in our future prosperity. Judge D. H. Morris reviewed conditions condi-tions of the past year and then compared com-pared them with the prospects for the coming year. Wallace Mathis spoke on the livestock live-stock situation.
