Show SPRINGDALE Springdale, Dec. 30. The coldest weather the earliest settlers have seen has prevailed here the past week. On the nights of Dec. 23, 24 and 25 the theremometer registered 5 degrees below zero. Since that time the thermometer has been going up, and it stands 10 above this morning. morn-ing. Some three inches of snow is still on the ground, and melts but very little during the day. Haven't been able to hear of David W. Lemmon Lem-mon and family, who are spending the winter at the saw mill on the East Rim of Zion park, since the 22 inst, as the telephone wire is out of commission, com-mission, however at that time he reported re-ported 25 inches of snow there. Born on the 23 inst., a daughter to Mr. and Mrs. Enos E. Winder, all concerned well, and on the 28 inst. a son to Mr. and Mrs. Arden' Shiefer with Dr. Woodbury in attendance. The latter child died at 1:30 this morning. The holidays are being spent in dancing dan-cing and playing basket hall games. Return games were played with Rockville. Rock-ville. The big dance of the season was given by the young ladies (leap year) on the night of the 29. Mrs. Ed. Allred of Lovell, Wyo., who has been visiting here the past two weeks, has returned home. Daniel Crawford has returned from Salt Lake City, and reports very cold weather prevailing there. Some of our people attended the Elders convention held in Rockville on the 28 inst. |
