Show DIXIE COLLEGE NOTES The following program was given in Devotional last Friday by the Siswish Club. Dialogue. Joyce Harrison and Lovinia Wells Reading Zelma Cooper Pianologue Elizabeth Loynd Reading Agnes Bleak Chorus Siswish Girls Monday we were very fortunate in having with us Professor Guy C. Wilson Wil-son who gave a splendid talk on Dixie, what it stood for, its men and women and the students who will soon push forward as winners: "You can't tall winners by the color of their hair, their eyes, by the clothes they wear, the home they come from or the car they ride in. "You students here are building a life, making investments and each one is making an account in the hearts of the faculty, and whether or not you keep that account straight depends a lot on your success. "The w:orld today is looking for men and women who are not for sale, but who are honest and not afraid to say "no."' He finished his talk by saying "The Dixie college produces men and women built four-square." Preliminary tryouts for the Heber J. Grant oratorical contest were held Monday afternoon with three entries from college and seven from high school. Miss Daisy Leavitt had the winning oration for college and Mary Nelson and Verda Judd tied for first place for high school. These two contested" con-tested" in devotional Tuesday before three judges and Miss Judd w:as announced an-nounced the winner. Miss Leavitt also gave her oration, the subject being. "The Book of Mormon in the Latter-day Latter-day Saint Home." The prizes for these are two autographed books from President Grant. The students sent a telegram to President Grant expressing best wishes for him on his birthday.
