Show Hotel Man I'raJsos Legionnaires G. W. Hail, proprietor of the Liberty hotel, headquarters for the recent Legion convention, 1 has the highest praise for the Legionnaires and Auxiliary members mem-bers attending the event here last week. Being on duty day and night he probably had the opportunity of contacting personally per-sonally as many or more of the visitors as any man in town. He says : "The Liberty hotel was crowded crowd-ed with Legionnaires and visitors day and night from Wednesday until Sunday. We tried to give thorn service and from expressions expres-sions as they were leaving believe be-lieve we succeeded. "As Legion headquarters for the convention the hotel was the meeting place, not only of those who had rooms here, but others. This gave me the opportunity of gaining first hand information as to the caliber of men who compose the organization. I do not hesitate to say that in all my experience I have never seen a finer group of men and women wom-en than the members of the Legion Le-gion and Auxiliary. During all the time of the convention there never was an argument of any kind in the hotel, no man non-ducted non-ducted himself in any but the finest and cleane:-1 manner, and it was a genuine pleasure to entertain en-tertain them. "This was probably the biggest big-gest thins that has ever come to Si. Gorg". Financially almost everyone benefitted directly, and all will benefit indirectly in the years to come. The prominence of the men composing the organization or-ganization was a surpriso, and they all left ' feeling that St. George was the most hospitable town they were ever in. "Leaders of the s'ate. who were members of the ortraniza- St. George could bank on their support when we went out for another convention. "As a result of the convention conven-tion the Legion is held in the highest esteem by St. George residents, and we have received the best form of publicity it is possible to get. Summed up, it seemed the Legionnaires me; for business and adjourned for pleasure, and there was plenty of both." |
