Show LITTLE FOLKS TOWN The cantata "Little Folks Town," put on Tuesday night by the first and second grades of the Woodward school, under the direction of Karl E. Fordham and teachers, Misses Esta Smith, Emily Harmon and Helen Gardner, was very good. Miss Bessie Thurston supervised the dancing and Mrs. Mae Pace was at the piano. It opened with the reception committee com-mittee awaiting the arrival of the visitors and making preparations for the big carnival. The guests came in groups; the first were some little folks from Old Virginia who danced the Virginia Reel; then a group from Old New England braided the May Pole; the little children of 1862 danced dan-ced the minuet; then came the negro piccanies who danced, followed by the modern Charleston. A band of emigrants emi-grants including Japanese. Dutch and Gypsies from Spain represented their nationality with song, dance or dialogue. Then the champion base ball players came on and staged stag-ed a game of ball and sang. There was a very large attendance of parents, who were delighted with the canatata. |
