Show LEEDS Sunday, Garry, the two year old child of Mr. and Mrs. Leland Sullivan had the misfortune to get his arm broken while playing. Sunday visitors here were Mr. and Mrs. Bob Hattel and children, child-ren, of Kanarra, and Mr. and Mrs. Will McMullin, of St. George. Free Holly and friend, Mr. Payne, of the Veterans camp at Veyo spent the week-end with his family. Jack Cox who has had employment employ-ment in Cedar City this summer has returned home. Our Relief society held their first meeting of the season on Tuesday. A large crowd of ladies was present. On the evening of September 26, the peach growers of Hurricane, Hurri-cane, La Verkin, Toquerville, and Leeds held a social in the ward chapel. The purpose of the meeting meet-ing was to come to an agreement on a plan and appoint committees in each town to work with a central cen-tral committee in the handling of next season's crop. A good price was received for peaches this year. Mr. Muir, of the Muir Trucking- company was present and gave some valuable instructions instruc-tions to the growers. Mesdames Holly, Perry and Reta McMullin, France and W. G. McMullin and Orval Fuller went to Bculder City at the time President Roosevelt was there. |
