Show Pioneers and State Officials to Attend Lee's Ferry Fete That the Lee's Ferry celebration celebra-tion being sponsored by the Associated Asso-ciated Civic clubs and northern Arizona counties, will be attended attend-ed by many of the pioneers, state officials and a large number of interested people, is the report of officials of the Civic clubs. The celebration is to extend over three days, starting on October 11. Homage will be paid to the hardy pioneers who forded the river hetween the years 1874 and 1878 to establish settlements. Governor B. B. Mouer of Arizona Ari-zona will give the welcoming address ad-dress on Friday evening. Following Fol-lowing this there will be the introduction in-troduction of all state officials and original pioneers. George M. Hess of Panguitch will lead the community singing. The principal program, according accord-ing to C. ,W. Love, Jr., vice-president vice-president and Washington county coun-ty director, is scheduled for Saturday Sat-urday evening at which two speakers will be provided by the Grand Canyon National Park service, ser-vice, to tell of the. geology and history of the country up to the time of the first crossings. A representative of the church will then take up the subject and continue con-tinue with the church history. Frank Johnson, whose father Mark Johnson, was a caretaker of the Ferry after John D. Lee sold it to the Church, until the bridge was oompleted, will relate the story of what went on during ' that time. l Saturday afternoon there will .be dances by Navajo and Hopi j Indians from the surrounding ter-i ter-i ritory. These Indians, it is said, i will bringall sorts oh trinkets to trade to the white people, many of whom are expected to bring deer hidrs as the Indians apparently appar-ently like best to trade for hides. On Sunday, camp will be broken brok-en and the visitors will start home.
