Show HURRICANE II AN KILLED ATBRYGE PARK Golden Langston Dies Almost Al-most Instantly When He Stumbled and Fell in Path of Heavy Gravel Truck Golden Schly Langston, 42, of Hurricane, a highway construction construc-tion worker, was killed on the rim road of Bryce canvon park at 3 p. m. Sunday. He had been employed there for one month and three days. Mr. Langston was clearing the way behind a power shovel when he stumbled and fell at the rear of a truck backing into position. Sinder Gerrard, the driver, dri-ver, failed to sec him, and the left wheels of the truck ran lengthwise over the prostrate man's body, crushing one side. Langston was born April 14, 1SS9, at Rockville, a son of Frank and Annie Sophia Morris Langston. When he was 11 years of age the family moved to Hurricane Hur-ricane and have made their home there since. A short time after their arrival in Hurricane the father died. On December 27, 1921, he was married to Miss Ethel Perkins Per-kins of Cane Beds, in the St. George temple. Surviving are his mother, wid- kju, t i , uig die Alio 111VJ1.1IC1, 1 LI" ow, and five children, Colima Lamond, Melvin J., Norma Dorothy, Doro-thy, Owen Lloyd and Maxine. Funeral services were held at Hurricane Monday under the direction di-rection of Ira H. Bradshaw, bishop of the South ward. Speakers Speak-ers were Bishop Bradshaw, Bishop Bish-op Frank Johnson of the North ward, James Judd and Superintendent Superin-tendent Ryan of Bryce canyon park. A vocal solo was given by Mrs. Taylor of Bryce, and other musical numbers were by the Hurricane chofr. Prayers were offered by James Stan-worth Stan-worth and Frank Reber, and the grave in the Hurricane cemetery was dedicated by Claud' Hirschi. |
