Show KILE! MOUNT. OPENING L00MS BIG Everything connected with the grand opening of Pine Valley Mountain Moun-tain trails July 4th is going along smoothly and well. The various committees are working with a determination deter-mination to make a big success of the affair. Governor Geo. H. Dern and party will be here, and a delegation from this city which returned Tuesday Tues-day night from Salt Lake City brings word that a representative of the Vnion Pacific System will be present. The delegation from Washington county, consisting of D. C. Watson and Fred A. Reber of the St. George Chamber of Commerce, and County Commissioners William Lund of Enterprise En-terprise and James Judd of Hurricane, Hurri-cane, were joined at Salt Lake by W. A. Whitehead and Gordon Whitehead. This delegation was well received and on stating the object of their visit to open up the scenery of this sectionwere sec-tionwere assured of hearty support and received financial assistance from the following prominent concerns: con-cerns: Z. C. M. I., Salt Lake Hardware Co., Strevell-Patterson Co., Smith Faus Drug Co., L. D. S. Church, J. G. .McDonald, Sweet Candy Co., Morrison-Merrill Lumber Co., Hewlett Bros., Decker-Patrick Co., Hemen-way Hemen-way & Moser., Stickney Cigar Co., Max Ottenheimer Co., Mgr. J. A. Jones of Firestone Fire & Rubber Co., Geo. A. Lowe Co. of Ogden and John Scrowcroft & Sons Co., of Ogden. The delegation met with officers of the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce and Business Men's Alliance and feel very much encouraged with the reception re-ception accorded them. An advertising campaign will be got under way at once to give the matter wide publicity and every effort ef-fort will be put forth to make a strong and lasting impression on visitors to the opening, for the impression im-pression they carry away with them ill mean very much to us. If the impression they receive is favorable it will mean big things for us and funds for the opening up of our scenic attractions. If we fail to make a favorable impression, our time is wasted and we will be set hack for years, perhaps. So let us I all, everyone, get behind the committees commit-tees and do our very best to make a big success of the occasion. |
