Show SENATE AGREES OX OIL LEASE BILL Washington, March 31. The senate sen-ate today agreed to the house amendment amend-ment to the senate bill passed by the house Monday granting a further two-year extension on oil and gas permits, per-mits, making their total life seven years instead of five. The bill now goes to the president for approval, and, inasmuch as it has the indorsement indorse-ment of the interior department, if will unqestionably be signed within the statutory ten days. While the bill is not mandatory in its terms, it permits the secretary of the interior to grant an extension of not more than two years beyond what is authorized by existing law, if he is satisified that the permittee is proceeding pro-ceeding in good faith to drill for oil or gas. This legislation was especially asked ask-ed by Utah interests now drilling and prospecting for oil in and around Moab and throughout southeastern Utah, southewestern Colorado and northern Arizona.
