Show Local News Items Miss Irene Richards who has spent the past winter with her sister, Mrs. Barney Chase, returned return-ed to her home in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Jeter Snow was pleasantly entertained by her children and grandchildren on Friday, June 8, her birthday. There were nineteen nine-teen present including Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Bentley and family, Mr. and Mrs. Parley Lang and family, Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Snow and George Snow. Mrs. Ida Calloway has returned to her home in Los Angeles after spending the past ten days visiting here with friends and relatives. Miss Georgia Richards spent Monday with her sister, Mrs. Barney Bar-ney Chase. She was returning to her home in Los Angeles after attending conference at Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Clark of Hurricane spent Tuesday in St. George. Mr. and Mrs. Morris .Pack of the Dixie Cleaning and Tailoring shop, returned last Thursday from the north. They spent ten days visiting friends and relatives in Tremonton and Richfield. Raymond Love left last Friday for Los Angeles where he will spend several days visiting friends and relatives. Mr. C. H. Bigelow, a former resident of St. George, is spending some time here from Los Angeles on business. Mrs. Warren Cox aiid daughter Noma left Friday tor Salt Lake City where they will spend a week or ten days visiting. Mr. and Mrs. Homer EngleBted of Hurricane spent Tuesday in St. George. Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Merritt of Western, Wyoming were visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Dennett last Wednesday and Thur,sdjy while en route home from New Mexico. Mr. and Mrs. Dennet entertained Mr. and Mrs. Grant Hardy and Mr. and Mrs. Merritt at dinner on Thursday. These folks with the exception of Mrs. Dennett resided in Witchita and other cities in the West Kansas Kan-sas District of the Central States Mission where they labored as missionaries. Isaac Jones and James Jones and son, Myron returned Wednesday Wednes-day from Enoch where they attended at-tended the Jones family reunion. Elvis Benson returned to Jiis home at Avernal, California, last Friday after a week's visit with friends here. Mrs. William Lamb returned Sunday 'from Las Vegas where she spent several days with her husband hus-band who has employment there. - Mrs. Albert Hafen of MJesquite, is at the local hospital for medical treatment. She came on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Langton and son nd Miss Marion Lyon of Salt Lake City were visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George F. Whitehead on Saturday while en route to Los Angeles. Miss Mary McAllister underwent under-went an operation' at the hospital on Tuesday. Mrs. Agnes Adams of Salt Lake City spent Sunday in St. George with relatives and friends. She is a former reesident of this city. Mrs. Roy Whipple, Mrs. Nelda Adams and Rulon Gardner of Las Vegas were visiting at the home of Mrs. Whipple's mother, Mrs. Annie Webb on Saturday and Sunday. They were accompanied home by Blaine Whipple who has been here the past week. Mason Cottam, Miles Nelson and Bob Brooks left Monday night for Logan where they will take a course in band work. Mrs. Rozilla Andrus returned Sunday from a visit of several weeks with her son, Roman and his lamily in Los Angeles. Mrs. Frank Miles left Tuesday for Ogden where she will spend the summer. Miss Inez Hardy left Sunday for Los Angeles where she will spend some time visiting her sister, Mrs. Alberta Harline. Frank Stevens returned to Springdale on Monday after visiting visit-ing for a few days with friends here. A swimming party and weenie roast were enjoyed by Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Pearce, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Worthen, Mr. and Mrs. Hale Pearce, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Pearce, Mr. and Mrs. Moroni Bleak, Mr. and Mrs. John Bentley and Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Cannon at the Veyo Pool on Sunday evening. ev-ening. Daughters of the Pioneers are sponsoring a Junior Dance in the Open Air Pavilion, Tuesday, evening, ev-ening, June 19th, at 8 p.m. Mr. and Mrs. Milton E. Moody and family acepmpanied by An-tone An-tone Moody, left for Salt Lake last Saturday. Mr. Moody and his brother Antone will attend the summer session of the Utah University. Uni-versity. Menzies Clark returned Sunday from Los Angeles where he has been attending dental college. He left the same day for Bryce Canyon Can-yon where he has employment for the summer months. He was accompanied by his mother, Mrs. C. M. Clark and his sister, Miss Catherine and brother, Walter who returned the next day. Mr. and Mts. Thomas Turn-beaugh Turn-beaugh and friends Mr. Mc, and Bill and Edgar Turnbeaugh and Misses LaRue Cornell and Norma Tobler visited at Blake's Ranch Sunday. They reported a very enjoyable time. Mr. and Mrs. Marker Peterson and Mr. and Mrs. Brigham Peterson Peter-son and son, Brigham spent Wednesday Wed-nesday night with relatives here while en route to their home at St. Johns, Arizona, after attending attend-ing conference in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Brigham Peterson was formerly for-merly Miss Stella Jarvis. This is her first visit here in 30 years. A reunion was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Brigham Jarvis that evening which was attended by 60 members of the family. A very enjoyable time was had. |
