Show J. W. MCALLISTER CAINS TRIBUTE Joseph Wm. McAllister, head of the Volcal Music department at the Dixie Junior college, has compiled n book entitled Syllabus Sylla-bus for Voice Placement In Singing Sing-ing and 'Speaking. Recently Ma-. McAllister ,hrul the opportunity or showing this work to several men of recognized ability in the musical ileld throughout the United States. According to Mr. McAllister, he presented this book of his to these men fcr their honest opinion opin-ion of whether they thought it had value or not and also stated that he would welcome any criticism criti-cism that they had to offer. Following are some of the fine comments that ho received after they had inspected his book: . "I congratulate you on the clear and concise way you have treated a most difficult problem. It should be a big help to vocal students, also choristers in their work with group singing to Improve Im-prove their tonal quality." Success to you, B. Cecil Gates. "Your book and its explained vocal problems, is inspirational and very well set forth." Congratulations, Prof. Anthony C. Lund. Mr. McAllister also received a fine tribute from Noble B. Cain. This tribute was given before a grroup of approximately 500 students stud-ents at the recent M. I. A. convention con-vention in Salt Lake City. Mr. Cain had likewise had the book to study and when he returned it he made the statement that it was "Very good, better than the majority of material used by the musicians of the United States." Anyone familiar with the ability abil-ity of the above man will realize that there must be something to this work of Mr. McAllister's. |
