Show LEGIONNAIRES FROM LOCAL POSTS ATTEND LOGAN CONVENTION Twenty-five members of the St. George American Legion Unit attended at-tended the state convention at Logan last week. It was a very-successful very-successful convention, with Governor Gov-ernor Blood and National Commander Com-mander Edward A. Hayes and Mrs. Drendell, National vice-president of the Auxiliary talking. One of the outstanding meetings meet-ings was the music contests. This was held Thursday at 4 o'clock in the 4th ward chapel. The house was packed and Mae A. Pace, estate music chairman presided. St. George entered a trio and chorus and won first place in the -trto and second in the chorus. The personal of the trio is Lillian Cox, Wanda Snow, Viola Gentry with Mae A. Pace accompanist. Payson won first place in quartet and chorus, other units entering trios, quartets and chorus were Spring-ville Spring-ville and Logan. Eleanor Smith was elected District Dis-trict President, Mrs. Edwards of Cedar City was nominated as delegate del-egate to the National Convention, held in October at Miami, Florida, Flori-da, Mrs. Jetta Snow of St. George was elected as alternate to the convention. The Legion also wins the trophy tro-phy for the longest distance traveled trav-eled to the convention, with the largest number of members present. pre-sent.
