Show DIXIE COLLEGE Tryouts for tiie Dixie Junior College competitive play, "Square Crooks," were held in the Auditorium Audi-torium Thursday. Two casts were selected as follows; Bob Nelson. Don Bleak, Melva Matliis, Syivii Gates, Roxey Romney, Naomi Fordham. Loie Watson, Genevieve Gen-evieve Heaton, Emily Brooks, Viola Woodbury, Melvin Schmutz, Justin Lamb, Wendell Snow, Therol McArthur. Rhoda Welker, Florence Judi, George Whipple. Von Cottam, Donald Bowler. Claude Lundquist. Fifty people competed in the tryouts. The Christmas vacation began Friday noon at the College. Regular Re-gular classes were held until ten, when a short program was given in the Auditorium. The feature of the program was a playlet, "The Spirit of Christmas." Musical Musi-cal numbers were also given, in-, c'uding some numbers by Howard How-ard Cannon, a Dixie graduate, now doing graduate work at the University of Arizona. After the program the students adjourned to the Gymnasium, where dancing danc-ing was enjoyed until noon. Santa visited the students while they danced. The college is sponsoring a Scout Leadership training course on Monday, January 1. Leaders from several Southern Utah counties coun-ties and from the Virgin and Moapa valley of Nevada will be present.
