Show JUDGE ROOT IS I VISITOR HERE Judge LeRoy Boot of Kingman J arrived in St. George Wednesday j noon and today accompanied the St. George delegation to the Rich-field Rich-field convention. Judge Root is president of the Kingman Rotary i club, a director in the Arizona state fair association and secre- j tary Qf the Kingman chamber of I commerce. j : This is the first time he has I ; visited St. George since 1904, when he traveled through this section I ; as far north as Cedar in the in- ; terest of the Santa Fe railroad. At 1 that time, with a driver, he trav- ; eled in a buckboard and thirty j miles was considered a good day's . drive. - Tire economic and scenic value of the proposed St. George-King- man road cannot be over-estimat- :-ed, :-ed, according to Judge Root. The ; people on the other side of the ! river are awake to the needs of i this route. As to the scenic value, j it is pointed out, it would give j the traveler a view of the Grand I canyon both from the top. of the j cliffs and from the depths of 1 the canyon. From the ferry cross- j ing it will be possible to navigate i the river for many miles up stream ' into the Grand canyon itself. i Judge Root will return to St. ; George with the chamber of com- merce delegation Friday. i i |
