Show CONTINENTAL OIL CO. STATION WORK SIARTED C. Walter Cottam and He-ber He-ber Cottam Get Contract; Station and Bulk Plant to Be Completed by Oct. 5 Work was started Manciay morning on the new Continental Oil company service station and bulk plant- on the old Wm. Gardner Gard-ner corner on the highway at the intersection of Temple street. C. Walter Ccttam and Heber Cottam have the contract and by its terms they must have the station and plant, completed by October 5. Their contract covers the entire job. including foundations, warehouse, ware-house, station, driveways and the street improvements contemplated by the company. A first class modern station will be erected and it is expected that approximately $15,000 will be expended ex-pended here by the Continental. All material with the exception of the storage tank, is now on the ground. This will be installed on the rear portion of the lot, together to-gether with the warehouse for the housing of the truck and other necessary equipment. Continental Oil company stations sta-tions are noted for their beauty and harmonizing appearance, , and the one here will be no exception. The grounds will be laid off in a pleasing manner with cement driveways and sidewalks installed. install-ed. Every safeguard for protection against fire or other damage will be taken at the bulk plant. A retaining re-taining wall of sufficient height to hold the maximum capacity of the tank will be built and the tank itself will rest upon concrete piers seven feet in height |
