Show MRS. ORPHA HUNT RETURNS FROM NORTHWEST TRIP Mrs. Orpha Hunt returned recently re-cently from Ogden where she has been visiting for a few weeks following fol-lowing an automobile trip to the northwest and Canada, in company com-pany with Charles Webb of Riv-erton, Riv-erton, Wyo., Arthur Webb of Su-garhouse, Su-garhouse, and Mrs. C. E. Condie of Ogden. They left Ogden July first and spent the Fourth at Old Faithful Inn in Yellowstone park. There they viewed an historical parade and enjoyed a lecture at the geyser. gey-ser. Points of interest such as Lake Isa, called the Top of the World, Devil's Kitchen, Mammoth Mam-moth Hot Springs, and the museum mu-seum were visited, and the party climbed Mt. Washburn. From Yellowstone they went to Great Falls, Mont., and thence to the Glacier National park where they spent a short time, then continued on to Babb where they crossed the Canadian border. A notable feature of the journey through the province of Alberta, Canada, was that during several days they traveled only through wheat fields. hey visited the L. D. S. temple at Cardston, and traveled by way of Claresholme to Calgary. This city is the headquarters of the old Hudson Bay Trading post, and the company has recently completed com-pleted a new building there covering cov-ering ten acres of floor space. They spent a night at Banff national na-tional park, "" where from 400 to 1100 cars from all parts cf the continent and many foreign countries, coun-tries, are registered each night. They saw the Chateau Lake Louise, Lou-ise, a new $3,000,000 hotel cn the shore of that lake. The party traveled to the British Brit-ish Columbian coast and from there journeyed down through Washington and Oregon and on to Idaho. They viewed the Spaul-ding Spaul-ding memorial at Clearwater. This vas erected in honor of the founder foun-der of the first L. D. S. mission in the stateof Idaho. They crossed the Snake river bridge, next highest bridge in the world, and spent a short time at Spiral Hill and American Falls. Returning to Utah they visited in Logan and Salt Lake City and disbanded at Ogden after having been together for 22 days. |
