Show RIVER FERRY BOAT READY FOIOPERAIN Road on Thus Side Not Yet Open to Automobile Travel, However. A double-motor, twin-screw ferry fer-ry boat, built on the site, has been constructed and is now ready to be put in operation on the Colorado river at the mouth of the Grand canyon. An inch and a half steel cable is used, and a barge also has been constructed. The road on this side of the river, however, is not open and will require considerable repair work before it is in travelable condition. On the south side ot the river a fairly . good road extends from Kingman to the water's edge and this will facilitate the bringing in of equipment for road work on this side. Machinery will be ferried fer-ried across the river. According to C. H. Bigolew who returned Saturday from an extended trip throughout Arirona and California, work wiU commence about September Sep-tember 15 in breaking out a travel trav-el able road. It is planned to continue the improvement work until a good county road is completed. com-pleted. A permit- to operate a ferry at the cro.ssir.-r has been secured by V. G.
