Show VIRGIN School started here on the ninth with Webb Barber as principal prin-cipal and Lorraine Heaton as primary pri-mary teacher. Those attending high school at Hurricane from here are, Del-mina Del-mina Earl, Alene Earl, Raymond, Allen, Nelson and Marie Malon-ey, Malon-ey, Lee Wilcox, Blaine Turner, Reed Spendlove and Russell Cornelius. Cor-nelius. Venice Spendlove entered the L. D. S. hospital at Salt Lake City on September 2nd to train for a nurse. Udella Spendlove entered the Holy Cross hospital in Salt Lake City during the month of August to take a nurse's course. Mrs. Maria Spendlove is spending spend-ing the winter in St. George. B. M. Jones, Leon Wilson and Horace Cornelius returned from Veyo where they were drilling water wells. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Ritchie and son, Kenneth, Franklin Rit- chie and Miss Harriet Shirey of Long Beach are here visiting with friends. They are guests of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Lee. Jock Williams of ,3t. George was a business visitor in town Sunday. Sunday school conference was held here Sunday with Charles Bringhurst and John Judd of the stake officers in attendance. We had with us Harvey Jackson Jack-son and Wilford Neagle of To-querville To-querville as missionaries in our sacrament meeting. Miss Adelia Flanigan has returned re-turned from Provo where she has spent the past three months. Mr. and Mrs. Melborne Ash-down, Ash-down, of Cedar City were visiting visit-ing here Sunday with Mrs. Ash-down's Ash-down's mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Hopkins. Pete Chenovic, Urie Beames, Blueford Beams and Warren Blake were visitors in St. George Thursday. Floyd Goff and Lionel Matthews Matth-ews spent the week-end home from the CCC camp. |
