Show Local News Items Mrs. Joseph J. Milne entertained enter-tained at a bridge-luncheon Wednesday Wed-nesday afternoon, in honor of her sister, Mrs. Samuel Bleak, of Salt Lake City, who is here visiting vis-iting relatives and friends. Five tables of bridge .were enjoyed with high score prizes being won by Mrs. Walter Pace, and second prize, Mrs. Jennie . Brown. A surprise buffet supper and bridge in honor of Doctor McGregor's Mc-Gregor's birthday .t was enjoyed by thirty friends on Tuesday evening, ev-ening, at the McGregor home. The rooms were artistically decorated dec-orated with carnations, tulips and flag lillies, boquets of birthday greetings to the Doctor. High score bridge prizes , were won by Mrs. Frank Root' and Walter Pace. Mrs. Rowland ' W. Rider, of Salt Lake City and children, Miss Ramona and sons, Max and Bert, motored down to spend the weekend week-end with Mrs. Rider's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert O. Fawcett, at Diamond Valley. McGregor delivered a talk to the people of Washington Washing-ton upon Tubercular tests, symptoms, symp-toms, management and treatment. Mrs. Jesse Short, Sr.,. who has been in poor health for some time is confined to her bed with illness. Twenty-five third ' year Bee Hive girls, of the South Ward, under the direction of Mrs. Kate B. Empey and Mrs. ' Lutie Lamb, enjoyed a social in the Science Building, Tuesday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Ruse Hall and family, f Kanarra were visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sullivan here the fore part of the week. Mrs. Minor H. Prisbrey, who has been seriously ill for several weeks is able to - be up and around again. Mathls, Mrs. Rex Gardner, William Will-iam A. Whitehead, Mrs. Zora Jarvis, Mrs. Mamie B. May and Misses Isabelle Brooksby and Laura Barnhurst. Mrs. Jeter Snow, who has been confined to her bed for several weeks is still seriously ill. A marriage license was issued a the court house, April 9, to Edward Prisbrey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Brigham Prisbrey and Miss Ramona Anderson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hans . Anderson, both of St. George. Miss Rosamond Snow was moved mov-ed from the hospital Sunday to her home, where she is getting along nicely. Mrs. George W. Worthen returned re-turned Saturday from a visit with her daugher, Mrs. James Peterson, at Cedar Valley and with her son, George Worthen, in Provo. She also enjoyed a short visit in Salt Lake City. |
