Show IVINS MOTHERS ASK FOR TEACHER AND SCHOOL AT IVINS The Ivins mothers, with Mrs. Clara Mortinsen, as chairman, presented a plea on Saturday morning, to the Washington County School board for the establishment es-tablishment of a school for the lower four grades in Ivine instead in-stead of transporting them to (Santa Clara as they are now doing. According to this committee, they have a building available bo that there wouldn't be any cost there and that one teacher snould be able to handle the number of students that they would have In this number of grades. There would be thirteen students in these grades, state the women, six of them are beginners this year. In the past, they say, there has been some dissention among the residents of Ivins as to the advisability ad-visability of making this move, but this has been overcome and they presented a petition with one hundred per cent of the voters as signers asking that the change be made. The change is being asked under un-der the plea that it would be much better for the younger children if they could be kept closer to home and under one teacher's supervision. They point out the dangor of having those young children playing on the school grounds at Santa Clara, which is located on the main highway and state that in the excitement of playing thfj children child-ren might become confused and run onto the highway, and be injured. The problem was taken under advisement by the School board. |
