Show VIRGIN" TAKES CLOSE GAME FROM OVERTON BUNKERVILLE, NEVADA, January 20 The Virgin Bulldogs took the lead in the Southern Nevada Zone Basketball race by defeating Overton at Overton with a score of 2 6 tq 23 and hanging up its fourth straight triumph. At the half Virgin was ahead 13 to 7. Overton came back and tied the score 20 to 20 in the fourth quarter with four minutes left to play. Harold Leavitt was then sent into the game. He got loose under the basket to break the tie. Dan Waite and Hafen Leavitt followed follow-ed with one each to run the score up to 26 to 20. At this point two Virgin boys, Don Waite and Dilworth Strasser were sent from the game for excessive fouling, being followed immediately immed-iately by McDonald of Overton. Overton ran then- score up to 23 on foul shots. Ralph Harris and Don Waite were outstanding for Virgin and Tobler played sensational ball for the Overton crew. The Bulldogs played without the services of their stellar .forward, F e r r o n Bunker, who was out with a sprained ankle.
