Show Central fourth graders learn to speak Sp Spanish nish Bola amigos These are some of the sounds you might hear in the fourth grade at Central Elementary Mrs Newbold Ms Ramsey and Mrs Nelson have decided to bring an international flair to their classes by teaching their students Spanish Every student spends 15 minutes a day learning a song a greeting and basic Spanish vocabulary Friday the students have a short quiz on their second language The teachers are planning a Spanish club for the students and some activities or on the Spanish culture The fourth grade isn't the only class doing something special at Central The kindergarten recently went to the fire station to see what happens when theres there's a fire in town The kindergarten also learned about school helpers The cooks showed the kindergarten how they baked ginger bread and then the students went back to their classes When they returned the gingerbread men had run away The next day when the kindergarten came back from library they found the ginger ginger- gingerbread gingerbread bread men asleep in their classroom Centrals Central's librarian is also doing something unique The library is runn- runn running runnIng ing a contest among the grades to see who can read the most books The winn winn- winning lag ing student will twill receive a p prize |
