Show Basin needs registered nurses The need for 37 registered nurses in the Uintah Basin was was was' discovered as a a result of of oC a recent survey conducted by Dr Varnell Bench of the STATE LEGISLATOR Dr Daniel Dennis presented the survey to a meeting of the state stale legislators fall ll agreed il Ui that t th there re definitely was was an urgent need for registered nurses in the basin Through the efforts of Dr pr Dennis and arid Alva Snow a member of the Utah State University Institutional Council the classroom part of the R. R N N. schooling has been established in th the basin The institutions cooperating with the Uintah Basin Education Center in the R. R N N. program are Weber State College in Ogden and Utah State U University in Logan The Educational Center was wass assured that applicants the in inthe inthe in inthe the established R. R RN N N. N program would be admitted to either of these schools if they meet the basic requirements for the nursing program A student can take all of the book work in the basin except the nursing practicum or floor training That must still be done at Weber State Stale College or Utah State University While doing her nursing practicum a student has ample time for time part-time work with the book work done Even though we can handle only a few students I fc feel l that this is an urgent need in the basin and we are doing everything we can to try and alleviate this problem said Dr Ben Bench h. h For more information on this and other courses call Roosevelt office or Vernal office |
