The pollywogs, class for children child-ren from 2 to 6, has been held on Monday, but due to the length of the area meeting, pollywogs will now swim on Tuesday, Wednesday Wednes-day and Thursday at 11:00 a.m. There's swimming for almost everyone in the family so why not cool off-the water's fine. Lark Playground Last Friday's special event was a Treasure Hunt. There were 60 boys and girls who participated in hunting for the clues which led to the treasure. After running all over the school grounds the boys and girls enjoyed Tootsie Pops and all-day suckers. Two small girls fell down during dur-ing the hunt and had to be treated treat-ed for scratched knees. We were happy to have Ray McCarty visit the playground Friday, after his long seige in the hospital. Next Friday the children will make a trip by bus to the Hogle Garden zoo. All the boys and 1 girls are anxious for Friday to come. Ina Lofgran. Copperfield We had to change the date of the zoo trip because we were unable un-able to get the bus, so we will go to the zoo next Tuesday, July 6. Anyone over six wishing to go bring your lunch and be at the tunnel by 8:30 a.m. We should be home by at least 3:30 p.m. During this week we made cut out cats and Indians on the hectograph hec-tograph and we painted and past ed them together. Wednesday we made chains out of colored paper and really had some long ones. We are going to try to arrange a trip to Copperton park about every two weeks. The date and time to meet the bus will be announced an-nounced later. We hope to see all the children go to the zoo Tuesday. There will be no regular summer school that day. Jim Carrigan. o |
