Show schedules visit here Monday The Uintah County blood drawing will be held Monday at atthe atthe atthe the National Guard Armory from 7 2 pm p.m. According to Neil Deets chairman Uintah and Daggett counties are in danger of losing this valuable service HE liE EXPLAINED that in 1973 the blood bank service show a large deficit units of blood were collected in Vernal by the two visits of the bloodmobile units of blood were shipped to Uintah County Hospital and units of blood were furnished to Uintah County residents hospitalized in Salt Lake City hospitals Mr Deets stated this deficit must be corrected if this valuable service is to continue Local residents have shown in inthe inthe inthe the past that they do want this service he noted In February 1971 over units were were collected but in 1973 only 51 pints of blood were donated with 47 being direct replacement donations Deets further stated The blood bank program serving this area is an part of the Intermountain Red RedCross RedCross RedCross Cross Blood Center in Salt Lake City Twice a year the bloodmobile visits this area to accept blood donations This is our deposit to the bank account which makes blood available to patients in our local hospital or when needed by local people in Salt Lake City or other hospitals The blood centers provide the blood on call without charge only hospital lab fees Without the availability of the blood center there would be bea a substantial charge levied To maintain this valuable service the deposits must keep pace with withdrawals Chairman Deets and Red RedCross RedCross RedCross Cross Chairman Francis Lenox will be on Operation Opinion at 1015 Friday to answer any questions about the bloodmobile operation Instructions for blood doners loners are as follows 1 Any individual between the ages of 18 and 66 years 2 No changes in daily eating habits necessary Eat regular meals at regular times 3 Minimum weight requirement is pounds 4 The interval between blood donations must be eight weeks A maximum of five donations may be made a year 5 Let the physician or nurse in charge consult donor and make a decision about allergies and immunizations 6 If you have had malaria you may not donate 7 If you have had yellow jaundice hepatitis you may not donate 8 8 Red Cross draws blood under the license of the National Institutes of Health The welfare of each donor is the personal interest of the physician or supervising nurse at the drawing Members of the Church Young Adults under the direction of Roland Searle willbe will willbe willbe be conducting a telephone campaign contacting former doners to encourage participation tion |
