reality and desired immensely by the seventy four students who participated in one of the most sensational tryouts try outs ever held in vernal all those who desired to tryout try out were given a part from the comedy diama after two a delightful play in one act from the exhibitions of talent and the casts were selected for the four one act plays to be given in the near future for por some unknown reason the greater r number of the better plays being produced produced at the present time do not give many parts for girls this means that there are more chances toy for the boys than for the girs girls to gain pin experience in play production to over come this one unde desure our able director glen guymon devised the plan of having a double cast of girls for three of the play plays that means that twice as many girls will be able to achieve eap exp experience alence that thal otherwise would have hive been impossible the judges spent an almost quarrel one evening deciding on the casts some persons fit it was agreed others had the best or voice qualities there was not a laggard in the entire group and to select tsen ty five students from re evenly venty four waa more than a mathematical problem long tang hours of debate and a second tryout try out on some parts finally solved the problem and the parts were given to the winning contestants contestant the speech department has his taken some remarkable strides in the advancement van cement of acquiring and utilizing the necessary equipment tor for production of plays A stage has been built in the north ard of the speech
