Show Federal supplemental compensation extended Action taken by the U.S. Congress and signed into law by President Reagan has extended Federal Supplemental Compensation Com-pensation (FSC) benefits, according to Duane C. Price, Director of the Unemployment Insurance Program for the Utah Job Service. These benefits were to have ended on April 2, 1983. Under the program extension, FSC claimants who exhausted their original FSC entitlement will be eligible for 4 to 10 weeks of additional compensation. Those filing for FSC for the first time will qualify for 5V2 to 14 weeks of benefits. FSC claimants who have not exhausted their benefits will be eligible for 4 to 14 weeks of compensation, Mr. Price said. Both the benefit and administration costs of the program are paid from federal general revenues rather than from direct taxes on employers. Those claimants who are currently filing fil-ing an FSC claim as of the week ending April 9, 1983 need not report to their local Job Service office to reopen their claim. All others must report to their nearest Job Service office to file for the additional addi-tional benefits. |
