Show Wafer supply outlool A good runoff season is anticipated' throughout most of eastern Utah, according accor-ding to the water supply forecast by the NOAA National Weather Service February outlook. Forecasts changed very little, dropping dropp-ing 5 to 10 at Rock Creek to 142 at Whiterocks. Along the east slopes of the Wasatch Range forecasts are 135 to 148 of average. January precipitation was generally above normal with numerous reports greater than 150 of normal. Seasonal precipitation ranges from near normal in the south to 150 of normal in north. Soil Conservation Service s measurements indicate above nor snowpack amounts. Duchesne draii was 131 of the February l aver Lake Fork-155, Strawberry i( Whiterocks-147, Ashley-i; Price-104, Scofield-134, : Fremont-147. Seasonal streamflow (October I January) is much above normal i 185 at Whiterocks and 189 on Green River at Green River, Utah. Storage in Flaming Gorge Resen is 3.2 million acre-feet, 86 of capac 152 of average, and nearly feal million acre-feet higher than last yea this time. Storage in Lake Powell as of Febni 1 was 22.4 million acre-feet, 901J capacity and 200,000 acre-feet lowert one month ago but 2.8 million acre-: higher than last year at this time. The April-July inflow forecast toL Powell is 7.1 million acre feet, 1021 the 15-year ( 1963-77) average. |
